Disclosure: I received product samples from Intensity
Academy, Gourmet Garden, & Out of the Weeds to create recipes for
#HotSummerEats. All recipes and opinions
are my own.
It’s #HotSummerEats Day 3 as burger week continues.
Today’s burger brings together a few of my favorite
summertime ingredients: tomatoes and basil!
Add in some Italian Herbs and a little mozzarella and you’ve got an
amazing Caprese style burger! Yum!
Along with the burger and fresh salad, I love to add
the thirst quenching Watermelon Margarita for adults or Homemade StrawberryJulius (Float) for the kids!
Here’s a bit more about the wonderful sponsor products
appearing in today’s recipe:
Out of the Weeds Roasted Tomato Vinaigrette
I love this vinaigrette! It is perfect on salads and also amazing as a
chicken marinade (try marinated chicken with a side of pesto noodles!)
Intensity Academy Garlic Goodness
Garlic Goodness is a garlic hot sauce and it is
fantastic! It’s the perfect solution for
anyone who loves garlic with a little kick!
Gourmet Garden Herbs
I love Gourmet Garden Herb Pastes! They are the perfect solution to having
garden fresh herbs when herbs are out of season (or super expensive at the
grocery store!)
Caprese Burger
Burger
1 lb ground beef
1 egg
¼ cup dry bread crumbs
Salt & pepper
1 ½ tsp Italian Herbs (or Gourmet Garden Herb Paste)
¼ cup crumbled feta
Toppings
Mozzarella cheese
Tomato slices
Cucumber slices
Garlic Hot Sauce (such as Intensity Academy’s Garlic
Goodness)
Salad
Spring Mix Lettuces
Fresh basil
Diced Tomatoes
Cucumbers
Crumbled Mozzarella cheese
Roasted Tomato Vinaigrette (such as Out of the Weeds)
Pita Chips
Preheat the grill or frying pan.
Place the burger ingredients in a large bowl, using
your hands to mix until combined.
Divide the meat mixture in ¼ lb patties, using your
thumb to create a slight indent in the center to ensure even cooking.
While the burgers cook, lightly butter the split sides
of the buns and toast over a hot skillet.
Set aside.
To prepare the salad, toss the spring mix lettuce with
roasted tomato vinaigrette. Top with
fresh basil, mozzarella, diced tomatoes, and cucumbers.
To build the burgers, spread 1-2 tablespoons of yogurt
sauce on the toasted bun. Top with a burger, mozzarella, tomato slices, and
garlic hot sauce. Serve with a side of pita chips.
