Gourmet Burgers with Chipotle Mayo

It’s not summertime without a fantastic burger recipe!  Plus today it’s Nation Burger Day!

Today I decided to play around with some gourmet burger toppings, pairing up homemade chipotle mayo/fry sauce with provolone on the burgers.

They’re so delicious and perfect for those hot summer grilling days!

July 28th is National Hamburger Day and to celebrate these fabulous foodie bloggers are sharing their favorite burger recipes! Check them out now:

Gourmet Burgers with Chipotle Mayo

Burgers
1 lb ground beef
1 egg
Salt & pepper
Dash of Worcestershire sauce

Toppings
Provolone
Thick cut bacon, cooked crisp
Lettuce
Buns

Preheat and outdoor grill to medium heat.

Mix together the burger ingredients.  Divide into 5 patties, creating a small divot in the center of each one to ensure even cooking.  Grill until fully cooked to an internal temperature of 165.

During the last 5 minutes of cooking, split and butter the buns, place them face down on an upper rack of the grill.  Place cheese on the burgers to melt.

To serve, generously spread chipotle mayo over the burgers and top with lettuce & bacon.
