Ginger Basil Tea

Sunday Funday is having a tea party!

Since I am growing basil in my indoor garden, I decided to try my hand at fresh basil tea.

I have to be honest, it took a little tweaking.  It was hard to get the tea to infuse enough, and then, it definitely needed lemon and honey to make the tea palatable.

Will this make the rotation? No.  But it was a fun experiment.

Ginger Basil Tea

Adapted from Easy Peasy Creative Ideas

2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh basil

½ teaspoon grated fresh ginger

1 cup boiling water

½ teaspoon lemon juice

½ teaspoon honey

Place the basil and ginger in a tea ball.  Pour hot water over the ball.  Steep for 5 minutes.

Remove tea ball and strain tea, if needed.  Stir in lemon juice and honey and enjoy.
