Tomato Soup & Grilled Cheese Spiders

Ready for the cutest Halloween recipe you ever did see?

I’m just loving this tomato soup with grilled cheese spiders!  Much less gruesome than my usual feet loaf with the added advantage of being healthy!

The kids and Hubs loved this one and I did too!  It used a couple of tried and true recipes (Copycat Campbell's Tomato Soup and Quadruple Grilled Cheese (but only double cheese in this instance)) which made for an instant win, but really you can use your own favorite tomato soup (I have a bunch of recipes for tomato soup if you’re looking).  This is definitely going to be a yearly tradition.

1 recipe Tomato Soup

Chewy Italian Bread, cut in 2-inch circles

Butter

Garlic powder

Cheddar cheese slices, cut in 2-inch circles

Provolone cheese slices, cut in 2-inch circles

Chow Mein Noodles

Provolone cheese, cut in small circles (I used a piping tip)

Black peppercorns

Cook the soup to recipe instructions.

Once done, heat a skillet over medium heat.  Butter one side of each bread circle and sprinkle with garlic powder.

Place half of the bread circles, butter side down onto the hot skillet. Top e bread circles with a cheddar and provolone circle.  Place the remaining bread circles on top, butter side up.

Once the bottoms are browned, flip and brown the other side.

Once both sides are browned, add chow mein noodles between the bread layers to act as spider legs, then add small cheese slices as eyes with a peppercorn as the pupil.

Serve the grilled cheese spiders over the tomato soup.
