Spiderman Cake

 I made this Spiderman cake for a little guy’s 6th birthday!

I was experimenting with the cake flavor (by request) and came up with a cake that was super delicious (exactly what I was going for) but looked unappetizingly awful.

The birthday boys asked for mint chocolate cake.  I asked for clarification...a chocolate cake with mint flavor (like these Candy Cane Cupcakes or this Mint Chocolate Cake)  or a mint cake with chocolate (think mint chocolate chip ice cream, recipes here and here).  It was a good thing I clarified, because he wanted the latter.

As I mentioned above, I hit the mark flavorwise, but the looks!  I thought it looked like a murky swamp, Spud said it reminded him of diarrhea, and the birthday boy's mom said she thought it looked moldy.
