May the Fourth Mix

Happy Star Wars Day!

As the kids and I embark on a Star Wars movie marathon (Hubs is out of town, so he’s missing out), we needed snacks to munch on!

In addition to popcorn, we made a super fun (and super yummy) chex mix.

I started out with a basic white chocolate chex mix, and added fun candy characters!

Spud, especially, had a blast eating each character as they appeared in the movie!

May the Fourth Mix
Inspired by Kix

Chex Mix
5 cups Cheerios
3 cups Rice Chex
2 cups pretzels
1 cup M&Ms
12 oz white chocolate, melted

Lightsabers
Pretzels sticks
Red and blue candy melts

Yoda
Green candy melts
Small candy eyes

Chewbacca
Frosted Mini Wheats
Small candy eyes

Storm Troopers
Marshmallows
Edible ink black marker

To make the chex mix, place the dry ingredients into a large bowl and stir to mix.

Add the melted white chocolate and stir until evenly coated.  Line a baking sheet with parchment or a silicone mat.  Pour the mix onto the sheet and spread evenly.  Cool until candy hardens.

To make the light sabers, dip pretzels sticks into candy melts.  Set on a parchment or silicone lined baking sheet to harden.

To make Yoda, melt half the candy melts.  Dip an unmelted disk into the melted candy.  Add eyes and use melted candy to form ears.  Set on the baking sheet with the light sabers to harden.

To make Chewbacca, flip the Mini Wheats to the unfrosted side.  Use melted candy to attach eyes.

To make storm troopers, use a food marker to draw storm trooper faces.

To serve, mix all ingredients together and enjoy!
