Homemade Whole Wheat Slider Buns

Sliders are the perfect game day food!  There are meatball sliders, little sandwiches, or the baked ham slider version.  No matter what, they’re delicious!

In the past, I’ve adapted slider recipes to full sized sandwiches, because I didn’t want to buy the buns.

This time, I decided to make my own slider buns!  They’re delicious and no more difficult than making regular dinner rolls…and they make a ton!

Whole wheat slider buns are also delicious alongside soup!

Recipe Note:
I made a while batch of dough, cut my sliders and made the rest into regular sized dinner rolls/hamburger buns

Homemade Whole Wheat Slider Buns
Method adapted from King Arthur Flour

3 tbsp butter, melted

Prepare the dough up to the punch down.

Lightly spray 2 sheets of waxed paper with cooking spray.  Form the dough into a disc and place between the sheets off waxed paper.  Roll to approximately 3/8 inch thickness.  Remove the top sheet and use a 2 to 2 ½ inch biscuit or cookie cutter to cut dough circles.

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F and line a baking sheet with parchment or a silicone mat.

Place the dough circles just over an inch apart on the prepared baking sheet.  Lightly cover and let rise in a warm area for about 30 minutes.

Brush the tops of the buns with melted butter.

Place in the preheated oven and bake for 9-10 minutes or until golden brown.  Brush with butter again and cool before cutting.

Makes about 24 slider buns
