Shish Kabobs

Shish Kabobs are another recipe from my mom.  This recipe is the absolute best!  I’ve tried other marinades and they just don’t cut it!

This recipe yields incredibly tender and flavorful meat that will leave you begging for more!

Shish Kabobs

Marinade
1 ½ lb sirloin steak, cut in 2-inch cubes
½ cup canola oil
1 ¼ cups water
2 tbsp white vinegar
1 tsp worchestershire sauce
1 tsp hot sauce (Tabasco or Franks)
2 tbsp onion, chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
2 tsp meat tenderizer
1 ½ sugar
1 tsp salt
1 tsp chili powder
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp black pepper
½ tsp dry mustard
Dash cayenne pepper

For Grilling
8 oz button mushrooms
1 orange bell pepper, cut in 2-inch chunks
1 onion, cut in wedges

Put all of the marinade ingredients in a large zipper bag.  Shake to coat and refrigerate for 24 hours.  Shake the bag a few times to redistribute the marinade. (Alternately, place the bag in the freezer, beef will marinate as it thaws).

Thread the beef chunks, alternating the mushrooms, bell pepper, and onion, onto skewers.  Grill over medium heat until the beef is seared and the vegetables are cooked.
