Lucky Leprechaun Book & Polish Swap

This month I decided to participate in my first ever book & nail polish swap!   I’ve seen a lot of swaps since I started blogging (food swaps, craft swaps, favorite things swaps etc), but I’ve never felt inclined to participate.  But since joining GoodReads in January and rediscovering my love for reading, I decided to join up on The Lucky Leprechaun Book & Polish Swap and have someone else choose a book for me!

That someone was Stephanie from Life According to Steph!  Wanna see what she sent??

Ta-da!

Well, the book and the polish.  I stole the Bobba Fett mug from my husband.  He got it from his brother for his birthday yesterday and I may have claimed it for myself.  In all fairness, my birthday is 5 days after his and he doesn’t drink coffee anyway!

But I digress, back to the awesome swap swag.

The book Stephanie found is The Wolf Gift.  Since I’ve been reading a lot of supernatural fiction lately (stories about Vampires, Zombies, Wizards & Greek Gods have all been read in 2013), this book is right up my alley!  I can’t wait to dive right in!

The Wolf Gift

Here’s the synopsis from the back – sounds tantalizing, doesn’t it?

“When Reuben Golding, a young reporter on assignment, arrives at a secluded mansion on a bluff high above the Pacific, it’s at the behest of the home’s enigmatic female owner. She quickly seduces him, but their idyllic night is shattered by violence when the man is inexplicably attacked—bitten—by a beast he cannot see in the rural darkness. It will set in motion a terrifying yet seductive transformation that will propel Reuben into a mysterious new world and raise profound questions. Why has he been given the wolf gift? What is its true nature--good or evil? And are there others out there like him?”

Stephanie also sent me my first ever Essie polish!  I admit that as a Mommy of two I’m usually the “whatever’s cheap and dries is less than a minute” type.

Can I tell you how addicted I already am to Essie?  It took one coat (only one!!), dried super quickly, and I’ve had it on for a whole day without chipping.  Granted, I haven’t hand washed any dishes in that time, but still.  I’m a pretty happy lady!  The color is called Penny Talk.  The interesting thing is that the color looked more gold in the bottle, but was much more coppery and penny-like once it was on my nails!

So there we have it – my first book & polish swap.  Thank you, Stephanie, for being a great partner!

  1. I love Essie - it's a bit pricey, but it's one of the best polishes out there and it lasts! You know how bad it is to have chipping polish when you're trying to make something! :)

Glad to have you join us!
