Do people still make Oreo Truffles? Well, I do, because they’re so easy, and the best! (And can we talk about that original recipe I shared in 2010!?!)
I sometimes still make these the original way, scooping out tablespoonsful, rolling, and dipping. But lately I’ve been feeling a little extra.
For this version, I make a shell in a mold, let it harden, and fill with Oreo truffle filling and then close with more chocolate. Finally, I use Royal icing or candy melts to add festive detailing to the tops.
A little extra, definitely fun, totally a lot of work, but worth it!
Oreo Truffles
1 (1 pound 2 ounce) package Single Stuf Oreos
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese
1 pound bag of chocolate candy melts
Place the Oreos in the bowl of a food processor and process until crushed. Add the cream cheese and process until combined.
Melt the candy melts. Place dollops in the cavity of a silicone mold of choice and rotate to coat the entire cavity. Refrigerate until firm. Fill with Oreo filling and top with additional candy melts. Refrigerate until firm.
Pop the candies out of the mold and repeat.
Use colored candy melts or royal icing to add decorative details to the truffles.
