Chocolate M&M Energy Balls (No Bake)


Spud recently sprouted up and is all about muscle building right now.  So in addition to sports, we’re always looking for ways to add quick protein into his diet.  We made some energy balls a while back and he loved them, but asked if we could make some adjustments to make them more chocolatey, so here we are.


This is another great take on his favorite pre-workout snack.


Chocolate M&M Energy Balls (No Bake)


1 cup rolled oats

1 tablespoon cocoa powder

1 tablespoon PB2 (Peanut Butter Powder)

1 tablespoon finely ground instant coffee powder

¼ cup mini chocolate chips

¼ cup mini M&Ms

½ cup ground flax seed

½ cup peanut butter (preferably “No Added Sugar”)

¼ cup honey


Line a freezer safe container with parchment paper.


Place all ingredients in a bowl and stir until completely mixed.  Use a 1-tablespoon cookie scoop to portion out energy balls.  Roll lightly between hands to smooth, then place in the prepared dish.  Cover and freeze for 1 hour or until set.


Move to refrigerator to thaw slightly before enjoying.


Makes about 24-30 Energy Balls
