Chocolate cake with chocolate frosting is my all time favorite combo. But as a cake decorator, it’s not one I get to use very often. White frosting is a much better canvas for pretty cakes and cupcakes, and even covering chocolate frosting with fondant can be challenging (plus lots of people don’t like fondant).
But when I signed up to bring cupcakes to a baby shower at work, I decided to make the chocolate chocolate combo and see if I could pretty it up.
I ended up using some pretty blue and pink sprinkles I had on and and made some fondant roses as an additional accent. It was a great way to pretty up my favorite flavor combo!
I also made these for this month’s Movies & Munchies, The Life List.
The movie is about a woman who had lost her way in life, so her dying mother challenges her to finish the life list she made in middle school in order to receive her full inheritance.
There are not a ton of foodie moments in the movie, other than a baby shower in the beginning - so it was perfect that I already had baby shower cupcakes prepared! Tis the season!
