For this month’s Movies and Munchies, participants were tasked to watch the holiday classic, Elf, one of my personal favorites!
The obvious food inspirations are candy, syrup, and spaghetti, but I was inspired by the snow globe scene instead when Buddy learn about New York City.
Fun fact, the fam and I took another epic road trip this past summer, spanning 22 states (most of New England) and 1 Canadian Province, and New York City was one of our stops. When we saw the Empire State Building and went up the Statue of Liberty. And at the Statue of Liberty I couldn’t help but buy a snow globe souvenir!
So today, I made snow globe ice cubes! They are so fun and festive! Plus, totally customizable. You can add any drink to these ice cubes, but I recommend something clear and preferably bubbly. I used seltzer water since I was serving these to the whole family, but for an adult party, hard seltzer would be great too!
Snow Globe Ice Cubes
Water
Rosemary sprigs
String
Ribbon
Water, seltzer, hard seltzer, or cocktail of choice
To make these, you need to place about ½-inch of water in a glass and prop a sprig of rosemary in the glass, using paper or a bit of string to secure it upright. Then, place in the freezer until frozen.
Once frozen, remove the string, tie a festive ribbon around the glass and fill with a drink of choice. I used seltzer water because the bubbles reminded me of the snow in a snow globe (plus, then it was a family friendly drink!)
I love this idea!!! So glad you joined us and shared it.
ReplyDeleteThis is genius! Granted, I will have to make some room in my freezer to pull this off but can't wait to use these festive ice cubes in a holiday cocktail!
ReplyDeleteAnd, I have a favorite rosemary G & T that this will fit with perfectly!
