Twisted Turkey Cinnamon Rolls #foodnflix

This month I’m hosting Food n’ Flix!  I chose the 80’s movie, Planes Trains, and Automobiles starring John Candy & Steve Martin!

The movie follows two strangers who end up teaming up after their flight from New York to Chicago gets canceled.  As they try every possible way to get home in time for Thanksgiving, but everything that can go wrong, does!

While certainly not a food centric movie, food does turn up in quite a few scenes and in the background quite often.  Several times, breakfast foods were visible (both in a diner and in a home).

So, I decided to take a Thanksgiving twist (literally) on Cinnamon Rolls!

This isn’t a new recipe, per se, since it’s a new method for my Twisted Star Cinnamon Rolls!

It is such a fun Thanksgiving themed breakfast!

Twisted Turkey Cinnamon Rolls

Prepare the dough and rolls as instructed.

Place a 2 ¼-inch cookie cutter near the bottom of the dough rounds (do not cut through).  Cut evenly spaced slices from the center guide to the edges of the dough.

Carefully twist each dough pieces, alternating directions.  Use leftover dough to make a turkey face.

Loosely cover and set aside to rise for 30 minutes.

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.

Bake the rolls for 18-22 minutes or until deeply browned.

Cool on a rack for 10 minutes and serve warm.
