I love me some turkey dinner,
but sometimes I think the leftovers are even better! Especially when they’re made into this hot
dish.
Turkey Dinner Hot Dish or
Leftovers Hot Dish (as it’s referred to in out house) is a well loved after
Thanksgiving tradition. My mom always
makes sure she has enough leftovers to make us a hot dish!
And if anyone has to leave
early Thanksgiving weekend, they go home will all the fixins’ for Leftovers Hot
Dish!
Recipe from my Mom
Leftover:
Mashed potatoes
Stuffing
Gravy
Spray a casserole dish (large
or small depending upon the amount of leftovers) with non stick spray and
preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
Crumble a layer of potatoes
over the bottom of the casserole dish, follow with turkey, stuffing, and a
generous scoop or gravy.
Continue layering until
leftovers are used up or casserole dish is full, I like to end with a potato
layer.
Cover and bake in the preheated
oven for 45-60 minutes or until bubbly.
If desired, uncover for the last 10 minutes to brown the potatoes.
Serve with leftover dinner
rolls and additional gravy.
