Italian Cheese Bread

Do you ever order those cheesy breads from pizza places?  I cannot get enough of it!  It is butter and fattening and delicious and I’ve never been able to replicate it.

Until now.

Here’s the key:  Bake a flatbread crust until just done then brush it generously with garlic butter.  Then add a ton of cheese and broil. Then more garlic butter.

Helloooo cheese bread!

Italian Cheese Bread

3 tbsp butter, melted
1 tsp garlic salt
Dash of each: oregano, basil, & marjoram
1 ½ cups mozzarella cheese
¼ cup freshly grated parmesan cheese

Preheat oven to 450 degrees F

Mix up the pizza dough and roll thin.  Transfer to a baking sheet and bake for 5 minutes or until the crust is just done and beginning to brown.  Remove the crust and turn the oven to broil.

Mix together the melted butter, garlic salt, and herbs.

Brush the butter mixture generously onto the crust, reserving remaining butter.  Top with the cheeses.  Broil for 3-5 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and melted and the crust is deeply browned.

Remove from the oven.  Brush the top with the remaining butter mixture.  Slice and serve.

Enjoy!
