Candied Orange Peel Chocolate Chip Cookies
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
¾ cup brown sugar
¼ cup white sugar
1 (3.4 oz) package vanilla instant pudding
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt
2 ¼ cups all purpose flour
1 cup dark chocolate chips
1 cup candied orange peel
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F and line baking sheets with parchment.
Place the butter and sugars in the bowl of a stand mixer and beat until smooth and creamy. Add the pudding mix and mix until combined.
Add the eggs, one at a time, and mix each one thoroughly; stir in the vanilla.
Turn the mixer to low and slowly add the baking soda, salt, and flour.
Use a large spoon to stir in the chocolate chips and candied orange peel.
Use a 2 tablespoon scoop to drop the cookies onto the prepared sheets.
Bake the cookies for 10-12 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool on wire racks and store in a tightly sealed container.
Makes about 36 cookies

Chocolate and orange go so well together! Thanks for joining me!
ReplyDeleteI have candied orange peel in my fridge. Know where I am going to use it up! Orange and chocolate pair so well.
ReplyDeleteI love chocolate and orange together. Great flavor profile on this cookie, Amy.
ReplyDeleteThese give English Christmas for me! Terry's Chocolate Orange is a must-have treat that used to be available only at holiday time but now I find them on the store shelves year-round. Won't buy 'em out of season though! It's the principle. Great flavor combo!
ReplyDeleteOh, I have some candied Bearrs lime peel that I made earlier this summer. I might have to try this recipe with those. Thanks for the inspiration.
ReplyDeleteOooh, pudding in the mix cookies! Love the texture. I make a dark chocolate toffee orange cookie once a year for my mom for Christmas, but these look easy enough to do on the regular!
ReplyDeleteI'm going to definitely keep my eye out for candied orange peel...or make it. Because these cookies sound lovely!!!
