Lego Robot Cake

This post first appeared on my other blog in 2014, but since I no longer maintain that one, I'm reposting some of my favorites here!

Do you know any Lego fans?

Dude & Spud both adore Legos, and so does my friend’s son.

In fact, he’s in to Lego and robotics.

So for this year’s birthday we combined Legos and robotics (tough to do for a 10 year old, but I think we hit the mark!)

The cake was simply a Rich Chocolate Cake covered in buttercream with a few fondant details (check out this awesome tip from Sweet Sugarbelle for how to cut out gears without a gear cookie cutter!)  And the Legos were made from candy melts poured into a silicone candy mold.
