Everything Bagel Mix

It’s time for this month’s Food ‘n Flix pick…well…sort of.

This month’s movie was Nina’s Heavenly Delights hosted by Heather at All Roads Lead to the Kitchen.

Based on the title and the cover art, I was skeptical (I also had to check the rating, because, yikes (turns out it’s PG-13)).  I read the synopsis and I was still not enthusiastic.  Then I realized that the movie wasn’t available at the library or on any streaming service and I was done.  Then my friend Cam mentioned having the same problem.  She got around it by watching trailers and clips on Youtube.  That I could do.

So I set out to find clips and trailers.  I saw a lot of curry and lots of spice mixes.

So I decided to share one of my favorite go-to spice mixes – Everything Bagel Mix!  Now, admittedly, the mixes shown in the movie clips were more intricate mixes using a mortar and pestle, but it still made sense to share a favorite especially since I use it frequently.

Some people like to add salt to their Everything Bagel Mix, but I leave it out, preferring to add salt separately so I can add the right amount of salt to the individual dish.

Most recently, I’ve been using it on Avocado Toast and my Twisted Parmesan Rolls.  I also have another recipe coming up next that the kids were absolutely raving over!

Everything Bagel Mix

2 teaspoons sesame seeds
2 teaspoons poppy seeds
1 teaspoon dried minced garlic
1 teaspoon dried minced onion

Mix all ingredients together.  Store in an airtight container.

  1. Ohhhh! I see! MINCED garlic and MINCED onion! Now it all makes sense. Brilliant! Thanks for sharing that as I am currently in a two-story town that doesn't have a bagel shop so I'm really missing my Everything Bagel. I am adding these ingredients (and a bag of bagels) to my grocery list! So excited!

  5. I never knew the ingredients were so simple and readily available. I've been using some interesting spices to "spice" up some potentially lackluster lunches lately. I can't wait to see how else you used this. I just totally ran out of time last month for FnF. :(
